In this special lecture, Professor emeritus Anand Kumar (JNU) will give an overview on current developments in Indian domestic politics, particularly focusing on events that have occurred in the past two years and the trajectory of Indian politics under the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
Anand Kumar is former president of the Indian Sociological Society and professor emeritus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University. He is one of the founders of the “Global Studies Programme” at the University of Freiburg and the Jawaharlal Nehru University and author of the book “Understanding Globalization and Emerging India” (Palm Leaf Publications, 2011).
