The human rights movement to understand the causes of, and remedies for wrongful convictions - the conviction of an actually innocent person - is global. Currently in the United States, there are 1,635 documented exonerations of actually innocent men and women. In this presentation Prof. Dr. Robert Schehr will provide an overview of the scholarship of wrongful conviction, a discussion of prototypical cases, and offer suggestions for ways to improve crime scene investigation and criminal due process.
